Ariane Luckey

Ariane Luckey
Ariane Luckey is an artist whose works are personal interpretations of the way light diffuses the landscape in color and the moods they evoke in her. Her paintings are loosely representational, celebrating the moment when seeing and feeling become one. She tries to capture the transitory quality of light in a moment with fleeting impressions. She frequently paints en plein air which brings a direct and passionate response to a particular moment -- the light changes, hands get cold. Inspired by the works of Monet, Manet, Cezanne, Bonnard, Hopper, Kahn, Diebenkorn to name a few, she aspires to share a simple enjoyent of the moment. She paints in oils and soft pastels and lives and works in Washington Depot, CT.

Her works will be shown in the gallery from Wednesday, January 12, 2011- Monday, March 28th, 2011.
