Good News 2010

Good News 2010
From the Farm to the Table

At Good News we have always been supportive of local farmers and businesses. This year, we are doing more than ever, by partnering with farms to use their farm raised animals.

Our mission is to help people reconnect to their local land & to the farmers and artisans who tend to it. We depend on them and they depend on us.

So please enjoy the fruits of their labor knowing you are helping to keep our farms alive and thriving.

So thanks to our farms: Mad Hatter in Falls Village, Averill farm in Washington, Holbrook farm in Bethel, Nectar Hill farm in Cooperstown NY, Sun One farm in Bethlehem, Mitchell farm in Southbury, Wild Carrot in Canton, Starburry farm in Washington, Nick Bridge in Bethlehem, Rowland farm in Oxford, Sofer farm in Brandford, Broken Arrow in Texas, Keeds farm in Woodbury,Coach farm in White Plains NY, Berkshire Blue in Lenox Mass, Ridgeway farm in Cornwall.

Pure Food
We often forget that water is food; therefore we should be very careful of what kind of water we are ingesting into our body. Bottled mineral waters like Evian and San Pellegrino are only 77% pure and tap water contains many chemicals, minerals and medication residue. So, as you may have noticed, we decided to have an impact on our environment and health. Following our research, we chose the greenest one. Invented by Italians and engineered in America, the Natura System, which uses both high tech active carbon filters and a UV radiation chamber technique, removes and significantly reduces contaminants including,: heavy metals, pesticides and chemical impurities such as mercury, lead and arsenic. It basically eliminates chlorine and its compounds which are responsible for the irritating taste and smell associated with tap water and even some brands of bottled water. Minerals that are retained include calcium, zinc, and magnesium.

Furthermore, according to the Container Recycling Institute, Americans buy an estimated 35.8 billion plastic water bottles each year and more than eight out of ten of those bottles are not recycled . Additionally, The Pacific Institute of Oakland California, estimates that the energy required to produce each water bottle is equivalent, on average, to filling a quarter of a plastic bottle with crude oil.

So our system delivers the water into attractive signature bottles with sealed caps. They are reusable and dishwasher safe " which do not add to landfills! This water that we serve together with wine determines how we have the potential to process and experience different taste. For example, normal tap water, which often has a taste of earth, clay and chalk, makes your wine acidic and harsh.

So let's enjoy our pure, fresh and delicious water, it comes in both still and sparkling.

We thank our loyal longtime patrons and new friends over the past year for consistently supporting our farm-fresh modern cuisine. We guarantee that our innovative lunch and dinner menus will always be in season, and we will never compromise on quality.
