Carol Zamchek
Carol Zamcheck will be showing some of her stone sculptures at The Good News Restaurant & Bar now through March 2018. Her 5 pieces that have taken up residency at the Good News Restaurant are carved out of Alabaster. She starts out with a rough piece of stone and with hand chisels, pneumatic tools, files, rifflers and sandpaper creates a finished piece. It takes her roughly about a year to finish a stone piece with some starting out weighing 100 pounds.

Carol studied printmaking at CW Post College & in Florence Italy. Her etchings are
of whimsical insects. She learned stone carving at the Carving Studio in Rutland' Vermont, an abandoned marble quarry that has become a international school for
stone carving.

Carol has shown her stone pieces & etchings throughout the metropolitan area and
New England. She is a member of the Connecticut Women Artist and the Society of Connecticut Sculptors. She has a printmaking studio and a Carving shed in Redding Connecticut.

You may enjoy her craft during the months of February and March 2018. Please join us for an open cocktail and hors d'oeuvres reception on Sunday, February 12th between 3-5pm.
