An opening reception for Paul Favello s exhibit, A Filtered Lense will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 13th, at Carole Peck s Good News Cafe. The reception is open to the public, offering an excellent opportunity to view the exhibition at leisure, meet the painter, and learn more about his works. Favello s work is an exploration of the creative process. He fuses disciplines and histories, representations and abstractions in an attempt to create new modes of expression. As an artist Paul Favello states he is, "[relying] on a traditional art background to guide in the exploration of newer modes of expression." His work holds a vernacular that is both contemporary and appropriate. Issues of decay, chemical change and the mechanical are addressed within his photographic landscapes making the viewer wonder if these images are of a bleak natural future or a wonderfully colorful otherworld. The depths of these explorations come to fruition in his new show at The Good News Cafe and Gallery.
